Boston Medical Sciences aims for a world where no one dies from colorectal cancer.
Colorectal cancer ranks first in incidence and second in mortality among all cancers in Japan. However, many deaths can be prevented through early detection. In reality, even when a fecal occult blood test result is positive, many individuals do not undergo follow-up diagnostic examinations due to the physical and psychological burden of conventional procedures. This has contributed to increasing incidence and mortality rates. To address this issue, we are researching and developing a CT-based virtual colonoscopy system as a less invasive and more accessible diagnostic option, and working toward its social implementation.
